Recently, the OpenHarmony Community 2024 Annual Work Conference was held in Shenzhen. This industry event attracted the active participation of many member units of the OpenHarmony community. During the meeting, the Watch SIG (Special Interest Group) was established, and the core members of the OpenHarmony project group and representatives of important ecological partners witnessed this moment together.

Watch SIG will be committed to promoting the establishment of unified execution standards and operating specifications for the smartwatch ecosystem through a unified architecture, so as to solve the fragmentation problem in the field of smart wearables and help smart wearable devices achieve better interconnection and interoperability. At the same time, the meeting also pointed out the four key work directions of Watch SIG: northbound API standards, application ecosystem construction, dial specification definition and Watch technology evolution.

The application for the establishment of Watch SIG was unanimously agreed upon by the members of the OpenHarmony Project Management Committee. Ren Gelin, chairman of the OpenHarmony Project Management Committee (PMC), highly recognized the progress made in the current expansion of the OpenHarmony Watch ecosystem, and expressed his strong support for Watch SIG in 2025.

Shenzhen Linwear Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai HiSilicon Technology Co., Ltd., Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd., etc., as the first co-construction units of Watch SIG announced at the conference, will actively work together to contribute to the innovation and development of Watch SIG.

In the future, Linwear will adhere to the development attitude of openness, co-construction, sharing, and win-win, actively embrace the participation of more partners in the Watch industry, and work with more partners to continuously expand and progress in the Watch field, and jointly promote the development of the watch industry ecosystem.
